Post-Isolation Era

In response to the national trauma of the near-genocide, many Antilians became vegan. The Antilian king decreed that the non-violence religious teachings of Amalis, Saint of Compassion, be made into laws and thus the killing and exploitation of animals were made illegal. The Antilian king also outlawed sailing through the Ring and making contact with the outside world. Antilia became an isolationist country.

A highly contagious virus spread from the water systems in Almoretzia, causing an epidemic that killed millions of people across the Demekhali Empire over the next five years. The majority of the people that died were the Ylestrenese Demekhali people that settled in Almoretzia and Temar. The older Luanese women that had been taken as war brides 42 years ago, along with some of their descendants, survived the disease, as they already had genetic immunity or resistance to it. Many of the Temarese also survived the disease.

This Luanese woman founded a new religion of worshipping Sarea, Goddess of Water (formerly known as Anlua, Dae of Water in Antilia). The Almoretzians credited Sarea for the waterborne disease that killed their Demekhali overlords and liberated their nation from oppression.

The Fridhish Empire fell as the Malrennan armies invaded the mainland of Fridha (what is now Old Fridha). Many Fridhs fled to Fridha Island, while others were enslaved by the Malrennans.

War of the Pearls—The Malrennan Empire started a naval war with Almoretzia over rights to hunt virakis in the tropical region of the Perennial Ocean. Only a few weeks later, the Empire suffered an embarrassing defeat when Princess Tezarra of Almoretzia, a Daedali with water-control abilities, sank their warships, killing thousands of Malrennan sailors.
